NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS:  The Annual Early Bird dinner will be November 7th from 5 to 7pm. The post will have the annual Thanksgiving Dinner, Sunday, November 22, 2009 from 12 til 2pm. The Post will be CLOSED Thanksgiving Day, November 26th, and Christmas Day, December 25th. New Years day open at 12 noon.

 FROM THE CANTEEN:    OCTOBER STEAK-NITE - MUSIC BY:  THE “UNCLE BILL ROACH” BAND.

It’s their first appearance here at the Legion, so come by and listen to some great TEXAS STYLE music, 7 - 11pm.

 

 GET READY:   October is going to be fun month so come on out and join us. November will be a very busy month  with 7th being Early Bird dinner, 11th will be the Veterans Day parade, 22nd will be the Thanksgiving dinner, wow.   Don’t forget, if you want to ride in the parade, let us know, the trailer can safely seat about 12 people.

 

 Auxiliary Halloween Party:  Please come & join the Auxiliary for our special Halloween Party on Saturday, October 31st!!  We’ll celebrate Halloween with a potluck dinner, costume contest, and entertainment to be provided by the Second Chance band.

 

Membership:  Join us in a hearty welcome to our new members: Vanessa Noles, Kimberly Hougland, Jean Wood, Brenda Contreras, Sheila McGregor, & Martha Olguin (transfer from Benbrook Unit 297).  Please help us achieve 100% of this year’s Goal of 337 members - send in or drop off your ‘09 –‘10 Membership Dues NOW so you can get your FREE STEAK at the upcoming Early Bird Dinner at the Post!  We reached 100.90% last year, let’s do it again ladies!

 

From our Chaplain:  Our sincere thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to the family & friends on the recent passing of: long time member Annie Swartz; Robert Branch, Bob was retired U.S. Air Force & member of our American Legion Post 626; Julia Butler, whose aunt recently passed away; and to Bonnie Muench, whose brother also passed recently.  Our continued healing wishes go out to Sylvia Frontino who is recovering from her recent hip replacement surgery. 

 

Texas Traditions & Unit Management (TTUM):   Our Vice President, Tina Hill, recently attended the District 12 TTUM Leadership Seminar hosted by Fort Worth Unit 516, which was led by Marty Peters, Division II Chairman.  The TTUM Guide was revised this year to not only serve as a resource with information about our organization, our purpose, our ideals and our goals, but a new section was added that talks about programs & traditions that are unique to Texas.  It was a very informative meeting that provided information on Texas traditions, ALA history, guidelines for conducting meetings, responsibilities, programs, and much more.  Marty Peters is an excellent instructor, and Fort Worth Unit 516 provided a wonderful hospitality.

 

Fall District 12 Convention:  Saturday, October 17th at Post 624 in Mansfield.

 

Volunteer:  We really appreciate everyone who continuously helps out with activities held at the Post.  There is a Volunteer Sign-Up Board at the Post. Let us see your name soon & we thank you in advance!

 

Next Meeting: We invite all Auxiliary Unit 626 members to attend meetings and be involved with our ongoing and worthy activities – we look forward to seeing you on our regular meeting night this month TUESDAY, October 20th @ 6:30 pm – see you then! J

 

 

Thursday is $1.25 Day for all $2.00 Beer with regular draft beer $.75, wine $1.25 well drinks1.25.

ALL OTHER DAYS: REGULAR BOTTLE/CAN BEER $2.00.  Draw beer $1.00,Wine $2.00, Well Drinks $2.25
